I bought some CLR lime, calcium, and rust remover cleaner today because my filter flo has some rust in the bottom of the inner tub. I wanted to get some of ur guy's opinions on how to clean the tub with the CLR. i read on the back and it said to pour 1 and a half cups of the CLR into the washer and run it through a cycle then run a rinse through to clean the CLR out of the washer this makes since but i dont know if i should let it soak or scrub it with a sponge or something with a little bit of a texture to it. And i wasnt sure if it would hurt or damage the tub, like maybe take the shine finish off. Maybe someone can help me out, maybe one of u have used this before in a washer.

I think CLR uses oxalic acid:

If it sits too long the oxalic acid in CLR will etch the porcelain. I just saw a product that says its safe for metals but don't know about glass called Evapo-Rust check it out at the auto parts store.

If the CLR is just applied for a few minutes I don't think it will hurt the tub.
