Previously I've just purchased a new washing because my HPA (hotpoint aqualtis) was not performing as it should be, the HPA machine was damaging my clothes, because of the stupid design of the gasket; so i sold it. now i own an LG 11kg washer; the quality on this machine is excellent, cleaning performance fantastic (the 6 motions are quite vigorous) , and its also SUPER SILENT. when i compare this new lg to my previous HPA, HPA is actually a piece of crap!(seriously) I wish Brought an lg before; if hotpoint want to know what is a real super silent machine they need to have a look at the LG RANGE! i do believe this machine has exceed my expectations worth every penny i would highly recommend it. overall im not bashing hotpoint but i do feel cheated by quality and performance compared to LG even though its very pricey but worth every penny just like an miele or Siemens.
i didn't go for the steam model because i personally believe the steam option is gimmick to make you spend more. if you have a condensor dryer than you do not need a steam washer.

thanks for viewing!

I agree completely! I would still have my LG1402FDS6 If my ex didn't keep it when we split!

I would certainly have another. I agree on all your points except for the steam! It really does aid stain removal, Aids rinsing & sanitises!

Do you have any pictures of your own machine?

Darren.

We have an LG steam F1479FDS5 washing machine. Its slightly smaller at 9kg with a 69l drum but its still pretty big and performs very well.

The steam function really does make a difference on heavily stained items like tea towels etc. The medic rinse is amazing, feels weird having warm clothes at the end of the wash though!

We wanted the 11kg model but at the time they only sold the non steam model in black or white and we wanted it in silver as it was going back in the kitchen. Everythings the same except the drum capacity, the dampening system and the angle where the jet is, as far as i'm aware (correct me if i'm wrong).

Looking forward to seeing pics :)

Happy washing!

LG is a top rated brand nowadays, and has got several models in its range, 6-7-8-9Kg with steam or without, with 6motion or without. Noiseless, realiability, best materials quality... but if I had to say whether a worst and really akward model exist well this is INDEED the 11Kg!!

I wonder how the six motion works with a full drum.

LG 11KG is not the worst its actually the best out of the lower capacity LG models, i haven't had a balancing issue yet with these machine as i did do my research before buying where some people had issues with balancing but i still proceed to buy and i have no regrets whats so ever best machine ive ever used.

the 6 motion on a full load is effective well as on a small load because your clothes move around in a different fashion compared to the conventional washing of back and forwards, 6 motion enables better cleaning and less detergent.

i didn't realise the water heated up to 40d in the medic rinse,i just thought it was a super rinse type option,
i've only used it to wash towels and tea towels
i don't think i'll use it for clothes incase they come out of the spinner more creased than usual
