Hi.

I am looking for info about the Hotpoint Cassata series, what was different about them?

And, does anyone have any information, photographs or brochure pics.

I found this picture whilst searching for them, WD61?

Also a DF61 dishwasher appeared on eBay in the Cassata form.

Many Thanks to the Webmaster for this thread.

Thanks

Jacob

I don't really know what the difference is.
To me it's a Hotpoint Aquarius. You don't need manuals for these, they are so simple it unbelievable easy to use.

Yeah but what was the point of them?

Also - that dishwasher on eBay was in light pink and also dark pink.

They may have been exclusive machines only sold through 1 retailer as they are odd indeed!

Lilac, Pink, Hotpoint

Hotpoint did make some Lilac and Pink models, they were only purchasable from certain retailers though. I have seen a purple one Ebay too, though I read the description which said had an accident with Purple Paint, so we painted it all Purple, maybe your seeing this one being sold on further!
The machines were made in 100% Polar, white with sandstone panels, grey with dark grey doors and panels, plus the lilac one.

the difference is just the colours, back when hotpoint released these WM machines they released a range called cassata and these were the ones, colors were not the usual hotpoint colours but colours that you'd expect to find on much older machines, these were (correct me if im wrong): light pink, Pistachio Green (light green), Ice Blue (light blue) and Soft Lilac, authough i think the pink was a later addition

I can remember when Hotpoint brought these strange colours out. I always thought what a crazy thing to do. I don't know how well they sold but we really had our work cut out trying to sell the few of them that we had.

Hi all.

Bit of info for you all, on the Casatta Collection - one of the three 'Collections', the others being the Naturals Collection (otherwise known as Naural Linen) and the Metals Collection (Zircon Silver and Tonal Graphite).

The Casatta machines were not exclusives, but were part of the core range and on sale circa 1998.

There were three colours, available in the laundry, dishwashing and refrigeration ranges:

Ice Blue ... coded 'U'
Pistachio Green ... coded 'H'
&
Soft Lilac ... coded 'T'

Laundry wise, they were a restrictive range - one washer, one washer-dryer, one dryer and one dishwasher:

WM63 Aquarius 1100
WD61 Aquarius 1100 Washer Dryer
TL62 Aquarius Dryer Plus
&
DF62 Aquarius Dishwasher

A few pictures to follow.
Enjoy
Paul

The rarest colour seems to have been the Soft Lilac, with this TL62 dryer being the only lilac machine I have ever seen on ebay...

Thanks for that awesome info - so they were pretty rare then!

Awesome photo - guessing from a mail order/Argos catalouge?

The Lilac one is the dishwasher I saw on eBay - no matching washer or dryer in the listing though :(

Thanks

Jacob
