Just found these pictures on a Dutch auction site. Apparently this is a new 6kg Miele set (according to the ad). But they could be the bigger Miele's that were supposed to be coming out on the American market.

Louis, Thank you for the update, but BARF! That dryer looks like some cheap plastic junk from a third world country, similar to the Bosch monstrosity.

Naww, it doesn't. But at that price how'bout a window in the door...?

I guess that there is now window in the door because a filter in the door is still the most efficient dryer design. What intrigues me most of this set is that it looks like the drum is tilted. But I might be wrong.

Looks like

Miele borrowed the Nexxt look.

Where did you find those pictures? I don't like this new design. Miele has kept the beautiful design for years. And why chanching the rectangle door of the dryers. foraloysius, I think you are right about the dryer design. The door-filter is much more efficient and better in filtering lint out of the air.

Well, I actually think these new Miele's look really nice - as much as I hate to speculate though, I think that these are more than probably higher-capacity models, the proportions for a start don't look right to be a 6kg typical Euro model. Will certainly have to find a space for this set if and/or when it is launched in the UK :-).

If it is a high capacity model, will certainly be the first to have a 1600rpm spin.

I do think these look like a cross between Miele, Bosch, Gorenje, Blomberg and the tiny Eumenia machines... and in my eyes they definitely are beautiful :-)

Would hate to think how much these will cost, or even worse, how much that washer will weigh!!!

I agree, the Bosch and this dryer are one UGLY piece of laundry equipment. In fact, when they're side-by-side, it reminds me of someone with a patch over one eye LOL.

I actually think it looks rather nice, and very stylish. To each to their own, I guess. I'd much rather have the more efficient and convenient system of a filter-in-the-door rather than a door glass which can cause significantly more heat loss from the drum along with a more inconveniently placed lint filter any day.

Jon :-)

I think the dryer looks better than the Bosch Nexxt dryer, that one has the strange shaped door.

The door of the Miele dryer is more like the one of the vented Axxis dryer

And the Bosch which, of course Louis, is a rebadged Gorenje/Danby :-).

I still think that Miele washer and dryer is the nicest designed & looking high-capacity pair there is yet...

I just read a message that this is the new European W4000 series. This series is meant for the European market and will be sold additional to the more traditional Miele's. The Netherlands seem to have the premiere for this line. Apparently this is not the 8kg machine that is supposed to come out in the US.

Jon,

That Gorenje/Danby is really ugly! I like the Bosch much better. Ofcourse I'd prefer the Miele over those two! LOL
