I forgot that the old Friggies spun a little before agitatoring to get (as Andrea True used to sing) the action going.

The gold

has morphed to beige.

Too much Clorox! You'll have to start smoking to get the gold back.

you are a RIOT! Smoking indeed! Yes washing has returned them slowly back to gray in a few areas, but she hasn't seen any bleach yet.

And for all you anticipators out there a little tease is a good thing. relax sit back and enjoy it.

Well, ya know Jon

so many of us firmly believed that you somehow pulled a rabbit out of your hat, either acquiring or making a golden pulsator. It seemed impossible that smoke stains could paint so perfectly. Then with all of Louis's commentary, it took me forever to accept that the smoke did it.

Only when you showed the big bottom ring where the creases were gray, did I believe. It's too bad you couldn't have shellacked her to keep her gold.

Golden Rubber

macboy91si's profile picture

You know, I've had old fill hoses for the old Hoover machines do this. They turn a golden sort of color from non-use and as the water soaks back in they again return to the grey color. I wonder if that golden color on the pulsator was nicotine or just the rubber's reaction to being dry for so long. On the 2 hoses I have, no deterioration has been observed, just a color change.
