Gansky, you sly puss! *LOL*

Many eBay sellers of vintage appliances should take note: this is as good as it gets in terms of auction copy/presentation for vintage appliances.

Now the payoff:

Thanks Glenn...maybe I should put off getting a new car and just grab this Kelvy! And Greg said he didn't want to get rid of it...;-)

Yes, I asked if I could give the '66 a new home before...let's see what happens! Will make the initial wash-in even more fun...

WOW that thing's got 5 bids on it already! Totally cool! that's gotta be one of the people around here!

How does the agitator work on the Kelvies? Does it bounce up and down like a GM-Frigi, or go back & forth like most of the others?

Yes, it's mine. Well, it's actually mortgaged to ebay right now. I have debated over what to do with this machine since finding the Kelvinator from 1955 last winter and have had more than a few inquiries from people about this washer so I thought this way, everyone has a chance. I wish I could keep everything but alas, have room for only one Kelvinator and one Kenmore so the '63 is on the block too. Thankfully, we are having a very mild autumn here and I'm getting lots of things accomplished and much needed fall "purge" before winter really comes to stay. I always feel like I'll miss the machines terribly when they're gone but then another shiny object crosses my field of vision and it's really not so bad. My own little washer foster-care program ;-)

Only two bids, and IIRC both are members of the group. One bidder did retract his bid however.

More likely than not, this auction will stay true to normal eBay behaviour where most action will take place within the final days/hours/minutes.

May the best man/woman win, but really hope a nice group member nabs this Kelvy. It is worth the price for the agitator/washing action alone.

P.S. Am so curious as to how that agitator works, it looks something fierce.

1966, the year I was born. Kelvinators make good b-day presents.

Good luck Greg! I hope the machine finds a wonderful caring home like it had at yours. Wish it could be me. I cannot right now.

There are videos of Robert's ABC-O-Matic on the club to download, the washing action is virtually the same as the Kelvinator.

Just whom is "Member66854"? Seems he/she bids quite allot on vintage appliances, but not sure if he/she is a group member.

Bidding over $1,000 , not bad at all.

Sorry you didn't get it Chris, at least you tried though!

Who is this Rollermatic character? He usually pays top-dollar for vintage eBay machines and has sniped everyone; why the hell doesn't he just join the club? He obviously prefers the vertical-action Frigidaire, as most of us do...

Congratulations to "Rollermatic"! What a wonderful piece of Americana to add to his collection! I know he/she will certainly LOVE using it!

Rollermatic for the snipe! Well Done!

Congrats Rollermatic! If you enjoy what you have paid for, then by all means, enjoy!

Fair Game, right?
