This morning I woke to a couple inches of aqua in the garage where the washer is located. It was spraying everywhere from the burst in the hose. Does anyone know when Whirlpool stoped making hose part 387871?

No.

But i'm liking the metal braided "burst reistant" ones better than the old black ruber hoses..

hoses

Are standard, you don't need to go to WP for replacements. It IS a good idea to go to the stainless steel braided high quality hoses
