Hi Lulu

What exactly is the problem?

though I'm not sure, aren't Ariston exclusive to Harvey Norman? If so, have you gone back to them and complained?

These machines don't have a very good reputation. I'm interested to hear what's wrong with yours. I have a bit of experience with problem front loaders so I might be able to help - fingers crossed.

Chris.

Hi Lulu and welcome.

THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOUT-- WE HEAR YOU.. LOL

Don't have an Ariston. Isn't this brand the one that had a water leak onto the motor (*kaBOOM*) for FREDRIKSAM in Sweden?

Ironically ARISTON means exellence, as WEBILT is from well-built. NOT!!!!

Good luck in piecing together a posse. Power in numbers!

I know how you feel Lulu. Ariston are just crap (pardon my language). If i were you i would buy a new machine by a different brand. As toggleswitch mentioned, i have had bad experince witrh this kind of machine too. (Read crappy machine at mallorca apartment for more info)

stay away from Bosch as well!!!!!

Hi there Lulu,
I don't know a great deal about Ariston but may I also suggest stay away from Bosch as well, their ""customer service???""is absolutly terrible, it took them 6 weeks to fix my front loader.
Cheers Steve.

Ariston is imported into Australia by Arisit which is majority owned by Harvey Norman. HN and Domayne pretty much have them exclusively, save for a few independent stores like Designer Homeware that specialise in Euro appliances.

Try getting in touch with Harvey Norman. If you are a shareholder, perhaps you could express your dissastisfaction from that point of view!

I lived in a house for 3 years that had an Ariston in and it was the most reliable workhorse machine I have come across. It was frequently abused by the other tenants by overloading and at the weekend it was on virually non stop for the whole 48 hours. It never broke down or failed to turn out consistantly well washed clothes. I think that you have had a very unfortunate experience, Lulu

My grandmother had an Ariston frontloader from the 1970s that lasted well into the early 1990s without ANY breakdowns.

She got rid of it because she wanted something with a higher spin speed.

I've never found them particularly bad. I do get the impression that Merloni did (in some markets) produce very cheap machines under the Ariston brand.. Their slogan here was "ariston and on .. and on and on... Ariston " and they stressed their 5 year guarentees.

Harvey - Norman

Harvey Norman opened in Ireland a couple of years ago and have been rapidly expanding. Do they also have that really tacky radio commercial in Australia ?

Very very strong australian accented guy calling out special offers 1950s style with a bed of sung "go harvey go harvey.. go harvey norman" cheer leader style under it.

yes, unfortunately they do have the same annoying ad on the radio.

Chris.
