Hi all, am still looking for a 500 or 600 series Hoover top loader but have done pretty well with this 725 (and it was in Sydney)!

Advertised online for about $300 dollars it didn't generate much interest according to the seller. The photo posted up didn't do it much justice either.

Anyway I decided to go out and take a look at this machine with 300 bucks and bargaining skills in hand. The house was - so old person, so once manicured but now with a hint of deterioration going un noticed. All the windows had tightly snapped shut chunky venetian blinds..... so I thought this might be a goer ....

I was asked around the back to the laundry and was shown the machine. A thick towel covered it. Once lifted up it exposed a essentially brand new 725! NO fading to plastics, NO discolouration to painted panels (lid, sides, front). The hoses had been wrapped in a newspaper from 1982. I presume it was the last time it was used.

I dropped the front panel and wow - no greasy spray on the panels, shiny brass connections, factory sticker on the motor and the clear plastic protector strips over the heater element and other electrical connections like new. Inside the drum was a layer of dust and the splash guard for low water levels. I bought it then and there.

Photos coming!
