I was browsing craigs list this evening and came across an ad for according to the ad a 1958 KitchenAid portable that has never been used and has paperwork. The price is steep, but thought maybe someone would be interested

Absurd.

Maybe My Kd2-P was a steal at $100.00,and with the Original Manual, but that price is Crazy. And my machine has the Original tags too.

At Best, $600.00 is steep. Never used that is. Still in the Original Crate... to me $700-800.00.

But that's my Opinion.

ridiculous!!!

i picked up a kd2-p in buffalo about 2 years ago for about 75 bucks and it works great!

but then i didn't get a manual so guess that's why this one is over a grand! the owners manual! oh well, they aren't too difficult to figure out how to operate!

Out of Their Minds

I got mine where Thunderbird is served so you can guess the price. It is priceless, however. It would be very difficult to tell if most of these had never been used unless packing is still in the tub holding the racks in place. Due to the short cycle, most of these aged very well.

New Kensington is next to Lower Burrell where that turquiose set Lady K for $1,500 was also on Craigslist, so there must be something in the water...

People who have the good sense to keep these instead of sending them to the dump deserve what they can get for them. While it may be unrealistic pricing, before Messrs. Bush and Cheney ruined the economy for everyone else but the super rich, they might have gotten their price for this rare machine. Just think, for 1/8th of what I have to pay for health insurance, I could have had a brand new vintage KitchenAid dishwasher.

Things are even more expensive in the south

Y'all should get a kick out of this. $1100 for a refrigerator that doesn't work. I love my state and wouldn't want to live anywhere else, but it's crap like this that make others look at us and go "and exactly where does NC rank in education?"

People also take us for suckers way too often. You like this sort of stuff, you should have to pay more for it. F*ck you Jack. It's one thing to know what you have, which this guy DOESN'T. How does this person know it has never been used? It may be in good shape, but it's not been tested. Does excellent condition include the hoses underneath? This is RESTORED price. Oh this crap pisses me the hell off sometimes.

To each their own...
