I have a Maytag Bluebell NX wringer that I am using more and more, however, one problem is that the NX never came with a pump. I live in a Victorian house with a period cellar, so using the floor drain isn't a problem, however, I'm tired of getting my feet soaked.

My first question is about the width of the pulley wheel flange. My flange looks to be too narrow to allow the pump wheel to ride on it. Do I have to replace the pulley wheel with a different one?

Thanks

I have a Maytag E2LP. The pump wheel is narrow, more so than you might think. So I don't think you have to change the pulley , but if it were me, I'd get a hold of Phil at Phil's Maytag in Ovid N.Y He has a repair shop, and I believe, Maytag wringers is all he works on! He sells parts (pumps) ect on ebay. I sure he will be able to answer your question. Let me know if you want his email/phone# He is very nice to talk with, and fair with his prices.
Hope this helps

Hi Stan,

Thanks for the input. I've bought a few things off Phil already on eBay and been very happy, but I just wanted some input if there were differnces in the pulley wheel before I bought a new one..."Never ask the barber if you need a haircut."

Hi Bill ... Stan is right; get a hold of Phil as he can sell you a complete pump changeover that will include the wide pulley ... BUT ... before you spend the money ... look at the diagram you posted above. Does the cross brace on your NX have the two holes for mounting the pump? I have an NX at home and I can't remember if those holes are there or not. The NX was meant to be very, very plain.

See how the pump wheel engages on the side of the pulley; that's why it's necessary to have the wider pulley.
