As Todd says, everyone's appliancse are on the curbg awaiting ot be picked up. And he spotted something while tooling down a busy street. He called me back this morning, he & his dad had picked up a Frigidaire 1/18 in white, WC6B. It has a windowed lid even. HIs dad says all he can see thus far that's wrong are the belts are frayed. He's excited, if it isn't in as good a shape and it appears, he'll harvest parts that are useable for the future for his avocado 1/18.

curbed Katrina appliances

I bet a lot of those appliances would be fine if they were washed out with clear water and set out to dry for a couple of weeks

Its alive

Yes, the only thing wrong with the washer is the belt! So, another one was saved and those are usually not seen around here! Its in great shape otherwise. As far as the ones on the curb, I have been able to dry out and clean my LG and my friend's Maytag Atlantis and they are working great. The LG dryer was not so lucky ... will tumble but burner won't come on. So, although I lost my home for a few months, I did pick up another treasure ... sounds like a good trade off to me. Take care all ... I miss you guys, but I only get to a computer every now and then lately. Todd
