There are no machines, but the control panels were just down Route 1 from John in Beltsville. |

Holy cow! 11 bids all the way up to $127! I bet the complete original washers these came off of wouldn't have made that kind money! |

Congrats Mark! (lightedcontrols) This will make for lots of cool sounds and sights on any Maytag '06 series washer! I believe from the pics that this is the later version of the 906 model washer. This picture is of my 906, circa. 1966. Starting at the left side, you see the pressure switch with solenoid control for large or partial load settings. Moving right is the advance motor that runs a gearbox turning the cam bar extending all the way down to the timer on the right side. You just gotta love a washer that uses a gearbox to set the timer! Maytag used this same design in the all-button washers beginning in 1960 with the model 160 (the one I found in June) and then in about 1969-70, they changed to a much simpler design as in the ebay auction. They combined the rapid-advance motor into the timer (much like a KitchenAid dishwasher) and installed two pressure switches rather than switching the water level with a solenoid. The 160 I found in June needed a new timer and after studying the parts manuals I found that almost every part was exactly the same from the 160 in 1960 to the A906 pre-revision in 1970'ish so I was able to pull a timer from an extra A906 panel I had in stock. I've found three washer A906 washers and two DE906 dryers (including my machines) and a few NOS button sets in both colors, so I have, hopefully, enough spare parts to keep them running for a while. |
