As to loading the dishwasher...this dishwasher is one of the so called Maytag reverse rack dishwashers. It is so named because the dishes go on top and the glasses go on the bottom. As for the door seal get in touch with Larry at Modern Parts in Parma Ohio, give him the model # of your dishwasher and he may be able to help you get one for this dishwasher (he got me a NOS thermostat and a custom made door seal for my 1957 GE Fridge)...I hope this info is of some help to you...goood luck....PAT COFFEY

This is one of those interesting problems where there is more than one solution, yes replacing the seal will probably stop the leak as will a 30 second adjustment of the door strike. But unless the seal LOOKS bad I have always been able to easily fix the leaks without replacing the seal, this should be especially true on a lightly used machine like yours, and there is always nothing to lose in trying an adjustment first. And even though replacing the seal isn't a really difficult repair anytime you disassemble something old you run a much greater risk of creating other problems. |
