An exact match to my gold Lady Kenmore to a tee! Even the sears best sticker and white pink orange (among others!) cycle buttons are the same!

Unfortunately I had some agitator removal / centerpost problems with this machine and it had to be retired.

I would like to repair this Kenmore, as it is in excellent shape. When running, it is my favorite daily driver. Few washers I've used are more flexible or automatic than this machine.

There is also this Maytag washer with what I'd assume to be matching dryer for $100

Make a believer out of me.

I'm going to try and get these; I've always wanted this pair since I first saw them on 14th Street when I was in 7th grade. Just love those color coded buttons. I've emailed the seller. I'm hoping they aren't a fuddy-duddy Craigslist seller that won't sell to someone who isn't from the same neighborhood.

Vari-Flex

That should be the last of the Vari-Flex machines before they switched to the Penta-Swirl.

" last of the Vari-Flex machines "

Well, my aunts 72 LK set (in Avacodo), with the molded in handle and triple dispenser, had the adjustable Vari-flex agitator.

Malcolm -

The last Lady K model with the Vari-Flex was the '72, which was available until replaced by the '74 Lady K. This set is a 1970 or 1971. As stated above, the '72 got the triple dispenser and lacked a chrome lid handle (as did all 1972 Kenmores).

That's right Darren! After seeing all of you Kenmore, more, mores kvelling over so many gorgeous vintage TOL Ladies I've decided to take the plunge which will be followed, no doubt, by a neutral drain. These are fitting candidates to be my virgin pair as I used to marvel at them when I was a mere lad and I can use a nice edged Harvest Gold set.

The sellers are slow to respond though and as I said in an earlier post, I'm hoping they're not Craigslist party poopers who insist on selling only to locals. Will keep y'all posted most definitely.

how do you do those computer drawn pictures of the washer and dryer like in the last post? I would love to see a pic like that done of the 1969 700 Kenmore with super roto swirl like the one Gordon is holding onto for me.

I hope you get them Ken.

Those drawings are great.

Send me a couple of good photos of the panel, the interior and the exterior and I'll give it a go. It's funny, when I post some of these pictures on the site I can really see what needs work...

As I told Robert a couple of days ago, I was just about to buy a new computer with a powerful Adobe program that would give me the ability to do these drawings even better, but then my Health Insurance premiums jumped up more than 4000.00 dollars per annum, (are you 55 yet? It's bound to happen to you too) so all that money that would have gone back into the economy that would have helped create more jobs, etc. instead is going into the pocket of an uber-rich health-for-profit executive who will probably put it into some off shore bank account where it will do absolutely no good for any American but the class of Orwellian Pigs that some of us think have our best interests at heart (ugh! government...bad, rich corporate folks...good).

And as far as the gold Kenmores go, thank you, keep yer fingers crossed I still haven't heard from the sellers.

Drinking the Kool Aid...

...for better Kenmore Karma. Which presently sucks because the lady in Pittsburgh waited 3 days to tell me, "sorry sold". I hope they went to someone who will appreciate them and not just use them to clean the racing stripes out of Lemuel's tidy whities.

Anyway Chris, (and jumpin' John Lefever)this one's for you (and Darren, toujours pour vous):

Beautifully done. You really captured the SuperRotoSwirl with the agitator mounted dispenser on top. Sorry that the LK set you were bidding for was gone, but as we have seen, it should not be too long before another set pops up.

And look at that basket.

I mean... the holes and speckles.

Was the blue in the 60s really shaded?  I like it either way.

I've long since turned in my infatuation with 80 Toast and Platinum for 60s Candy Pink, Sunshine Yellow, and the sky blue.

Shaded blue

For a very short time around '67 - '68, there was a shaded blue color available. Whirlpool's version is called Edged Sapphire, and Kenmore's is Shaded Slate.

I don't have access to my Sears catalogs for those years, and I'm not sure that color even made it into the regular catalogs. I think it was in one of the sale books though.
