Hey Guys: I have asked this question before but haven't had any results so I thought I would try again because this time I have the model number & Serial Number of the machine. I need schematics for this machine to see what needs to be repaired / replaced. I sent the timer off to Midwest Timer and they cleaned it up and said they found nothing wrong with it. It is Model # DD56 & Serial # 43SA7504. The heating element will not shut off even when the timer has been turned off. The timer also seems not to have a "click" at the 5 minute point for cool down. Any help that anyone might be able to give me will be greatly appreciated.
Bob

I have the complete service manual for the 1956 washers and dryers, I'll get it scanned this week and into the dispenser for you if you wish?

I have the '56 dryer manual scanned. If you'd like me to email you a copy let me know.

Hi Bob, Have you removed and inspected the heater element? it sounds like it is shorted to ground.

OK Bob, the manual is scanned and loaded in the Daily Doctrine Dispenser for tomorrow. This tech-talk manual is unusual because it contains both the '56 washers and dryers service information in one. Most other years they were separate manuals.

Anyways, it will come up after 12:00am tonight central time and will be up for three days. This way anyone who wants a copy will be able to download it.

To get into the Dispenser, simply click on the link at the top of the page on the navigation bar. A picture of the link to the Dispenser is below circled in red...

This is just what I need

Robert: Thank you so much for putting this up. Without sounding like a complete computer "Dummy" how do I down load it ??? I would like to print the 36 pages because this will tell me everything I need to know to get this wonderful machine operating correctly again. BTW - This is the only one of these machines I have ever seen - Does anyone else have one ??? Just Wondering - Thanks again Robert for everything you do to help us on this site.

Glad you figured it out Bob, I tried to make the Dispenser system as easy as possible.  Isn't it nice you can ask for a super rare service manual and have it downloaded and printed in less than 24 hours!  Ahh the wonders of the internet.  15 years ago this would have been completely impossible.

Please keep us posted and let us know if something doesn't make sense in the service manual, between all of us we can help you figure it out.

There are a few '56 Unimatic Washers and matching dryers out there, but I don't know of any Deluxe and Super versions of the '56 Pulsamatic and Air-Flow dryers like the dryer you have.  You probably have the only one known to exist!
