I have been itching to do this for ages and with the fine weather this past weekend, I deemed that the risk of a hard freeze has past and it was time for the 'bucket test' on a couple of recent dishwasher acquistions.
Hubby would not let me do the tests in the basement, so I had to use my lucky turquoise bucket (not pronounced 'Bouquet' in this case...) to get hot water to the machines. |

So after getting yelled at, I did the next test with the lid shut!
I wonder if the broken impeller is at least partially responsible for the 'rock and roll' observed. But more good news - the tub gasket still provides an excellent seal. So, a few tweaks and a paint job will be the next steps for this one! CLICK HERE TO GO TO turquoisedude's LINK |

I did not dare run the machine with door open - yet... I will be investing in plexiglass at some point, I swear! It will be part of a wash comparason of a spray-arm roto-rack and an impeller-waash roto-rack - hopefully this summer!

and pics. what a beautiful lady kenmore, i used to spend hours looking at the lady kenmore dishwashers in the sears catalog when i was a kid (while everyone else my age was lookin in the lingerie section i'm sure).
i'm gonna put a plexiglass top on my g.e. impeller machine later this summer. it sounds like it can really throw the water around inside! |

Well, the outside of the machine probably needed a bit of freshening up.... It sounds like the GE is surging as water is forced up, then has to drop back down in sufficient quantity for the propeller to kick it back up again. Maybe more water?
That Lady K is just perfect - congrats on a real gem for your collection! |
