A couple of interesting things on the trailer in the ad - Hotpoints & a Kenmore...

I emailed last night but haven't heard anything back, ad says "must pick up today" so they may already be on their way to becoming new Kias.

Exactly, Malcom

I was hoping the Kenmore would be a big-burner gas model, would like to play with one of those sometime - a dryer with moxie!

The Hotpoint washer may also be interesting depending on condition, it may be a large capacity (four water levels - hard to tell from picture) so I could use it to convert into a more vintage (looking) GE filter-flow...

A friend had that gold HP stove in his house in Arlington built in the erly 70s. If you put a high BTU burner from a perforated back cylinder dryer, especially from the Soft Heat models, in a solid bulkhead dryer, you can get some really fast drying out of it. If your current dryer has a heat selector switch, it will no longer have any say about the drying temperature because the only thing that controls the burner is the capilary bulb attached to it. It's a real "hold onto your ass" dryer after that.

? the Hotpoint washer...

there seem to be dimples in the metal where the handle would be on the left front, I think it could be a dryer?

There is a white Hotpoint washer directly to the left of that green dryer to which I think he's referring.

OOPS!

Ooops, I should recognize that one! Friend had that same Rim-Flo until '98 when they replaced it with a KM 90

I love the American Flag sticker on the dryer console.

Also, the lid handle on the washing machine looks a little odd for this model.

Whirlpool LDA5800 handle

That must be a replacement handle for a metal one that broke off, which would indicate the washer was built slightly before the dryer next to it. While the dryer has the plastic handle, I am pretty certain the washer did not, otherwise you would see a hole in the lid where it should have been. 1976/77, when these models were being sold, was when Whirlpool was changing over to the plastic handles. Nice set.
