Hi Guys

Haven't posted on here for a long time so thought it was about time as I need some advice from the Hotpoint experts.

I recently got a "New Generation" tumble dryer. I would like to "service" it as it definately needs a new belt as the rubber has aged and split in many places. It would also im guessing benefit from some work with regards to the bearings. I believe it has bearing pads at the front and a rear bearing collar? at the rear.

It also needs the usual side and top trims.

I would like to know how to replace the belt and the bearing parts as ive never worked on a Hotpoint dryer before.

Is it ok just to put new bearing pads on or is it advisable to put a new rear bearing collar on? (have no idea what the rear bearing collar does so don't know if this part ever does need replacing or not). I have also seen a front bearing kit online which has the bearing pads and also what looks like a long metal strip and some rivit things. Do I go for that or just the bearing pads and collar?

The machine did not come with a rear vent adapter so it currently has a Hoover one taped to the back which does kinda work but obviously I would like to get the proper Hotpoint one. Does anyone have a spare one they are willing to part with?
If not there are apparently 2 options online. The vent adapter itself which fits a 3" hose or you can get an adapter with hose attached which is 4". They are both expensive for what they are but is it better going for the adapter by itself and buying a 3" hose seperately or is it better to have a 4" hose venting?

Sorry for all the questions but as you can tell im totally in the dark.

I hope someone is able to help me and that the replacement of these items is not to difficult.

Thanks guys

Mark

P.S Forgot to say I also got a "New Generation" Twin Tub and on checking the dates the twin tub and dryer were made 2 months apart.
