What a Nice , Beautiful Machine.
Glad the "Guys" got it up and running. We had a Westy circa 1972 front load before I moved to the Cape. Love how they don't go through the "Balancing Act" (The Miele keeps it to a minimum) Fun Machine. Sorry I couldn't make it to the Wash In. I was sooooo looking forward to meeting the clan. Well, maybe someday soon. The Restaurant opened tonight and I will be busy until the Fall, But that should not stop a certain groups that visit the Cape from saying Hi... LOL Trade offs for Dining and Cocktails on Barnstable Harbors most Beautiful Waterfront Restaurant could be available in trade for Repairs. (Hint Hint). If any AW members are visiting Cape Cod this summer , please stop by and say Hello. Ciao for now, Eddie CLICK HERE TO GO TO toploader55's LINK |

So much work went into this machine it was truly amazing. John, Jeff, Nate, Ralph, myself all had our hands in this machine. Nate and Jeff fixed the timer, John unlocked the seized motor and pump, Jeff and I dismantled the tub and installed the boot, Ralph and crew worked hard to make it shine again.
Really, it was the most fun almost of the whole event for me, and I hope the feeling is mutual, it turned out great.
As a reminder, here is what we started with...

I have a slightly earlier spacemate. I think there is a real design flaw-as the clothes tumble they hit the boot on the lower left side making it wear out faster at this spot. JEB |

. . . and a great restore. Thanks for the video. I was wondering . . . doesn't the tub rotate in the opposite direction of the slant fronts? Jerry Gay |

One interesting fact is that this unit tumbles/spins counter clockwise instead of clockwise like it's sister full size models. I think it was due to the positioning of the motor and pump which was the same as the full size models in a smaller area then those had.????
My 82 year old aunt had the higher end models and 7 kids to do clothes for. They were true workhorses. One of my absolute favorites. |
