Really! I didn't know that while I was adding a banana to my milkshake through that little hole, then replacing that cap, that it would fall in to the jar & the little fragments of it would get chopped up by the blade, before I finally shut the blender off (and spit out the little shards of plastic while enjoying my shake w/ my daughter!)...

Meant to Say: The Cap --> IN <-- the Lid!!!! It will blend, but I think it will also spew some of its blending right through the portion of the top of the cap that's chipped!
So I must find a replacement & durn if I forgot to grab the one off the blender lid at my dad's place... (He never uses the old Hamilton Beach there, which is the FIFTH blender & FOURTH H-B blender that we had there; the first was a Harvest Gold BRADFORD, followed by an almond H-B, that I don't knw WHY my mom just instinctively just threw away right in the trash--WHOLE! No recycling or giving to charity & it ran a HELLUVA lot better than the generic white ones that followed that legitimatlly broke after TWO-YEARS, sometimes in the middle of blending!!!!) So I otherwise don't know what will fit other than going to a small appliance parts & repair place relatively nearby that I hope is still in business & has that small, insignificant (& probably CO$TLY replacement) part!!!! -- Dave

You might well find at at the Ace on 9 mile or at Frentz in Royal Oak. I think that Oster has a rack program for those types of parts (rubber rings/cutter assemblies/inset lids/bottom screw assemblies) available to independent hardware stores.

![]() 10 bucks gets you a new lid, filler cap, 2 sealing rings, blade assembly and bottom cap. Might as well have 'em on hand for the next emergency. Free shipping, too. CLICK HERE TO GO TO joeekaitis's LINK

For my "Local S/E MI Metro-Detroit Area Folks": Tried ACE on 9 Mile (an old family friend, son of a long-ago next door neighbor still runs the place after working there since he was 16) and I even have an ACE nearby I might've gone to...
Frentz in R.O. at least had a pkg. of 2 gasket rings for Oster's but otherwise nothing else... The place I mentioned is actually a McNicholls Electric location at 13 & Woodward but looks like it turned into a State Farm Insurance Area, while the "probably main" location on 6-Mile Rd. (known as 'McNicholls' and what the name of each location is named after) I would hate to think is also no longer there... My dad's cap IN the lid of his blender (meant to say "take OUT OF his blender lid") has a crack on it, some yucky crud around the area that is within the blender top & I think would be too big to fit in my Oster lid, so it was not worth shaking my head at, all along...! I then took the right action & went to 'JOEEKAITIS's link' (thank you, Joe!) so now a whole new set of parts is on its way! (I never know when my gasket ring might get lost or become brittle--or when I may need a NEW JAR!--but I'm disappointed that I'm offered a white lid, when the base of blender is red (Hmmmmmm....!!!!) and I'm sure my base & blade assembly are fairly indestructible, but given that it's probably all I would be offered even directly from OSTER, I considre it a worthy investment! And it's too bad I also didn't order MUSIC--'cause I could have been offered a special offer if my order was $30 or more, but this is a fairly urgent purchase & I looked all over Online, for something to rectify my situation!) Thanks again! (Burp!) -- Dave

![]() It's getting hard to find all those little replacement parts anymore in hardware stores as well indy small appliance shops have pretty much gone the way of the dodo. I just drove past that McNicholls on McNicholls about 2 weeks ago dammit after picking up my popcorny stuff at Detroit Popcorn, course I didn't even know about the place. I'll have to go check them out, would be great if they had an aging inventory of things.

Check, and Double-Check!!!! Anyway, the parts came!!!!
The box was pretty LIGHT, so that meant there WAS no jar--and glad 'cause it was sitting on the parlor floor! But I got two rings, a bottom cap, a blade assembly, a WHITE jar top, whereas my blender is RED, including my orig. jar top, and my feeder cap--so I could finally throw my old one away! Better take good care of this one... (Still wondering, toom, how this could ahve happened; if only it had been a dream...!) -- Dave
