 No, also because in my experience faster spinning machines are less noisier than slow spinning ones, all that changes it the pitch (or tone). | ||

All I know is the is the noisier the machine the faster I want to get rid of it. If it is noisey on the spin I do not want it. | ||

 Sound design is a science to itself. I saw an interview on TV several years ago, where Miele people said they could design a washer that makes no sounds at all. However, people would want to *hear* their laundry being washed and spun so washers and dryers etc. are designed to give off just the right sounds during each phase of the cycle. Thinking about it, Miele washers actually do make a nice filling sound - not the usual shhhhhh but more like.... like water gentle being poured into a cup.
Personally, I prefer quiet appliances and crunchy cornflakes, which, of course, are sound designed to give the right crunch... ;-) | ||

 My favorite spin noise was the old Bendix with two speeds and the old Kenpool combos. Currently, I have a couple newer Frigidaire Infinities that spin 1100 RPM and sound a tad bit similar to either of the previous said models.I always prefered a major high speed spin because it cuts down the drying time and holds the aroma of the detergent used.I just got off line looking at the new L.G. 5.1 cu ft front loaders. Gotta get one!!They now have three spay nozels. Two on either side and one up top that thoroughly rinses the clothes.
