![]() Yes, it is a GM Frigidaire (frost proof)
Unfortunately, I can not be on here to answer any more questions tonight, but I will check in tomorrow evening. -...and post more pictures. For now, I can tell you that it works fine, however, I think the thermostat may need replaced soon and it has a really cool little butter melting spot that still works! - No ice maker.

![]() Dave had that fridge in almond when I first met him. His was the first household I'd ever lived in that had a fridge with an ice maker, and I was hooked. The third door was a novelty.
He bought the fridge at a used appliance shop in the early 80's. It had been messed with because it consistently took the compressor three tries to kick in every time it cycled on, but other than that it worked well. We sold it when we remodeled our kitchen in 1990.

Fridgidaire![]() I know this fridge well, my great-grandmother had this fridge in Avocado for over almost 20 years. She bought it used in 1978 when they moved into their house in the "city". It "died" in 98 or so, probably repairable, but it was replaced by a top-freezer Hotpoint I think. I remember the sound it made, something was loose in the back and it made this raspy sound when the compressor was running, a sound I associate with that machine to this day. I used to love the little freezer and was always puzzled by the 3rd door, which we used for ice, it did not have an ice-maker.

![]() I think most members here would agree with the practice of keeping the switch on hard. :-P
There's definitely a problem if butter is melting. Sounds to me like the thermostatic portion of the butter keeper has fried. I would love to have a temperature-controlled butter keeper in my refrigerator. They date back to at least the early 50's on some makes.
