Hello! I have been trying to do some research about the GE Clothing Conditioner that my grandmother has in her basement. It still works, and like everything else she owns, is in great condition. I haven't been able to find any information on how much such an item would be worth. It's very cool; I took some pictures with my phone--they aren't great but I can take better ones if need be. Any thoughts on what it might be worth to a collector? Is there a museum that might be interested in such a piece?

Front View

The line across is not part of the machine--just a strap we used to get it out of the basement on the handcart...

Your GE Clothes Conditioner Dryer

is from the late 50's or early 60's. By the late 60's the control panel was totally different and GE no longer called the clothes dryers Clothes Conditioner Dryers. If I were you I would just hold onto it , use it and enjoy it. It is a much better made machine than you can get today and people here can help you get parts for it if you ever need them....PAT COFFEY

It says Clothes Conditioner on it, so it must be earlier... I just called my grandmother and she told me it's either a 1959 or 1960; they bought it the year they moved into her home. Sorry about the error!

Very cool dryer, thanks for sharing. But you need the matching washer!

I would say 1959 - identical to one we had.  Whatever you do, don't discard it!!!  Even I could be persuaded to um.... acquire this one.

Several years ago - I do believe it was the year that Mr. Gansky hosted a wash-in during June (I'm thinking), someone placed this one on Ebay while clearing out some vintage models.  I saved the photo, and always regretted not attempting to purchase the dryer.

Interesting...

Wow! That one looks just like my grandmother's. Unfortunately, she does not have the washer anymore. She would like to get rid of it, and I'm happy to hold onto it until I find out more about it. If anyone has any information on how much it is worth, or would like to make an offer please let me know! I can get the model number and better pictures if it helps!

Amanda,
Looks like you've got a buyer. Ken will take good care of it, and he's very local.
