  Hard to believe its coming soon....if there any electricians coming, the Westinghouse dryer motor just hums....have to find the start capacitor...too bad I can't make the short trip to the late, great East Pittsburgh works for a new motor...or the R&D center for a new experimental one..so Ill just grill burgers instead!

 Unfortunately there is no motor start capacitor on most dryer motors including this one. Check to see if the motor turns freely by hand with the belts off, if it does and does not start on its own you have a motor problem. It can either be a bad centrifugal switch, bad weight assembly on the rotor or a bad start or run winding. I often said the worst thing about Westinghouse appliances was that they had Westinghouse built motors, LOL. | ||
