A big thank you goes out to Ken/bajaespuma who was kind enough to donate today's Doctrine, absolutely beautiful brochures from 1963!

Very cool brochures! My grandmother had the BOL dishwasher, bowtie impeller. I believe she had to have some surgery and this was to have made her life easier. It was almost never used except when I was there visiting in the summer months. I loved the smell of opening that machine after a cycle with bleachy Cascade and lots of steamy hot water.
Hers had a detergent cup that was merely a funnel on the front wall of the tub with two holes at the bottom. The water action flushed it out during wash. I wonder if that's what they mean by self-resetting? That sounds like advanced technology but likely meant that it was just empty after the cycle was done. IIRC there was a flush - purge at the very beginning of the cycle. |
