A friend asked me if I could haul away an old fridge for a next door neighbor who was moving. Sure, I said. He then told me that the guy would tip me with something green and he wasn't talking money. Interest piqued, I drove right over. Well, now. What could that green tip have been?

In fantastic shape and still running. The person didn't use it much and the owner before that must not have as well...

The only wash arm this baby's gonna need. No chips or damage to the tub or door. The stuff in the corner is just dust bunnies...

The 66 means it's a part of the 16 series, so early 1970s as toward the end of the line because it had the soak cycle. It's about the same age as the KDS16 that Ken (bajaespuma) got a few weeks ago.

I put her thru her paces. Rolls around well, washes with that quiet Hobart "hurricane in a box" action that promises death to soil. No leaks and the heated dry works quietly and well. I like this one a lot. I'll take more 'tips' like this any day!

Have to admit I'm a little green with envy. Roger in Tuscon has one of these too. Used it at the 2006 or 2007 wash-in out there.

Nice score!

The GE sticker is probably from the dealer who sold it, or maybe serviced it.

I have the Regency Model and it's in my kitchen right now.

"Hobart quiet Hurricane in a Box" LOL. Exactly.

These machines really clean great. Congrats and enjoy.

Great save Andy I always love these kinds of tips, it is finds like these mixed into our busy weeks that make this job fun.

This is also why portable DWs make such good collectables as there are thousands of PDWs sitting in homes and basements that are virtually unused and the high quality machines often need little work to actually use them.
