Well it looks like the rubber vacuum belts just don't cut it! I tried a few, which fit, but because they aren't solid material ones, like the original, they all ride up the pully and get chewed up.
I am going to look around to see if there is anything out there that is similar. 6" (12" round) by 1/2" material belts. If anyone knows of anything like this, please let me know!

Maybe try this. If you have the old belt, see if you can find the size of it and take it an auto parts store and see if you can find one that works. They can size it for you there too. Gary

That's too bad, Mark

The Hoover belt is still working fine for me. Good luck on better success with what Gary has suggested.

I came back to tell you that the Easy with the belt replacement is the "old"one in my basement, not a daily driver, although it once was, over 20 years ago. Is it possible that the Hoover belt was better made back then or is from a model no longer in stock?

I just feel bad that you went through all the effort at my suggestion and it didn't work in the end.

I got a few more belts to try, so let's see! I can drop out the motor, change the belt and have it all back together now in about 10 minutes, so it's not a big deal.
The other thing I was thinking was that the pulleys aren't exactly alligned. I will have to check this today.

All GOOD! I used a 3M Filtrete Eureka U belt and it's perfect. I also think I had one of the pulleys off a little. Thanks A LOT Mike for all your help!

Just got through 3 loads and she's quiet and fast! I noticed with the belt right that the spinner doesn't loose speed when the Spirulator is running, like it was doing before. I had a new (3 years old) Whirlpool Duet HE which broke 6 times that didn't spin the clothes out as dry as the Easy does; and now even better with a good belt. What a difference a belt makes!
