I'm looking for a compact stackable washer/ GAS dryer.
I'm really stuck for space. The doorway into my laundry area is only 25-inches
We currently have this little 24" GE Stackable Spacemaker thing that came free when we bought the condo, but it is a piece of crap. The lint basket doesn't work either. You have to pull out the lint basket and reach behind with two fingers to pull out the lint. It broke last week. Everything we dry comes out smelling like charcoal (we are waiting for the service guy to come).

Anyway, does anyone have any recommendations? I found this GE profile FL stackable one that we may be able to fit in if we take the trim off the door. I was also looking at the Bosch Axxis, but they are pretty pricey. I saw that Whirlpool has a new little FL, but I read on another thread that its some cheap thing from Italy.

Any advice would be great.

The GE Profile is the washer & dryer pair made by Frigidaire for their own label as well as Kenmore (the best mix of features and price is the Kenmore/Sears one0. Also check with Home Depot and look at their Danby front load washer & dryer. But I don't remember if the dryer has a gas version. I checked on the Maytag site, there is a 24" wide front load washer & dryer, but the dryer only comes in electric. Gas dryers fitting your width needs are very rare.

Sarah, I have a Bosch Axxis set and am very pleased with their performance. They are packed with features too, and quite gentle on fabric. If you want the quality, go for it. Just my opinion.
