Somehow,I could picture this machine in a motel-hotel room bathroom-handy for the guest to do a "nights" worth of wash during travel.

I'm curious to see what the max spin speed is considering it will be mounted to the wall. Of course, I would also step-up to the model with a heater for the extra $50.00. So someone please buy one and give us a full review.

Yes, I suppose the idea is to save floor space but it does sound like a recipe for disaster in badly built houses like we have here in Hungary. The bricks are so weak it is quite difficult to secure things like central heating radiators, let alone something that's trying to shake itself loose like a washing machine.

1/6th the size of a normal machine and uses 24L per cycle. That sounds like a lot of water.

24L of water for a 3kg load doesn't sound too bad. My Miele uses 47L for 6kg (that's with two rinses)

I originally found it on the US ebay site. The basic model is pink and white.
I could picture this hanging on the wall of the laundry room as a diaper washer. Dirty diapers in, select the sanitation cycle, add the Dreft detergent and extra rinses. Boom! It runs on 220V so most US homes would need a second electrical connection in order for it to work. But like fido said. You better have strong construction and preferably no neighbors on the other side of the wall.
I wonder if it could just be placed on the floor?

I should think you'd need a sturdy wall to attach it to, I would think due to the size of the drum compared to the cabinet size it does not have any form of suspension and probably won't spin much over 500rpm. Having said that I would love the model with the chrome door and heater.

I think this would be a boon in hotels where airline flight crews stay. I can't tell you how many times myself and others have had to wash shirts, pants & other uniform pieces in the bath tub to get them clean for the next day's use. Especially if your line was extended by scheduling!

i could see this...

...in an RV/Caravan. Of course, there are technical problems since RVs run on 30A/120V or 50A/110V in the USA (no doubt 230 in Europe). But if it doesn't consume more than (say) 10 amps you could use a 110->220 converter :)

Then again given how flimsy most RVs are a wall mounted thing might NOT be a good idea!!

The big thing available for the mobile market here is a w/d combo in 110V made by splendide.

Guys, I need some help.

I've ordered one of those but it will take maybe more than 2 months to arrive by EMS (shipped to a friend's address in Paraguay to avoid the brazilian taxes).

Who else here has ordered it? Would you please send me as much pictures as possible and also some videos, overall descriptions and reviews?

I'm running against the time to show it to a local importer.

Update

This machine is simply fantastic.
It is really tiny but can hold 9 T-shirts or 4 bath towels easily.

Cycles are long and up to 6 rinses can be selected.

Spin is 700 rpm. It does a decent job.
Dispensers work great and the balance system is also fantastic.

It's expensive but worth every cent. This is the first mini machine that's really useful in any home, as a main washer for singles or a second washer for bigger families. It's really useful for those mini loads and even for "not so mini" loads too.

By the way, Electrolux launched it here in Brazil as "Mini Silent"

Just been watching some of his videos. Very interesting even though I don't speak Portuguese! The little washer looks such fun, great wash action and water levels, I noticed it uses 29L of water per cycle.

I liked the 9kg Electrolux washer dryer , is it Samsung in origin?

"Sterilization washing by boiling water (80C)"

Since when does water boil at 80C? It's allways been 100C at sea level or +/- 96C depnding on altitude.

Post# 718223 , Reply# 32   11/27/2013 at 22:47 (3,774 days old) by thomasortega (El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora de Los Angeles de Porciúncula)

paul, the 9kg washer (and the 10.5 version has the same design) are both designed by Electrolux and made by Daewoo.

Docker, here we never consider 80C as sterilization. it's sanitization. But most people, including me, sometimes confuse both words, even knowing the difference. You know... we think one thing but say other.

Nice machine...

...but it seems to be available in Brazil only and that's a shame. I think there would be a market for that little helper in Germany, too. Nevertheless, Daewoo has vanished from here yet a long time ago. Maybe their cars are still on sale over here but I'm not too sure about that...

It will be available in the U.S. too. Probably under the Electrolux brand.

Cheap? Of course not!

Just like the Brastemp Eggo (Eco Egg), which looks like an egg and doesn't have spin cycle, the marketing target are those women that usually wash their underwear in the shower and hang them on the shower's tap only to make their husbands desperate.

And as any husband like to see that horror scenario every time they are going to take a shower, the machine sells itself.

Most of the buyers here in Brazil aren't the women that discovered a new way to spend the husband's money but the husbands, trying to "educate" their wives. It sounds funny and sexist but, those are facts.

The secondary effect (probably not thinked when those machines were created) was that they are really useful.

Brastemp Eggo washes amazingly well and remove difficult stains even on cold water, because the mechanical action is very strong. It's also good for those loads that are always small and shouldn't be mixed with other loads, like kitchen towels or cleaning mops or that red shirt that bleeds like hell when washed. The bad things about the Eggo is that it doesn't spin and, even being smaller than a regular bucket, it still has a footprint to waste floor space. Is also can't wash a regular jeans or a bath towel because it's too small.

Mini can do exactly everything a standard front loader can do. It washes, rinses, and spins any load. Even a king size set of sheets (two sheets and two pillowcases) can be washed and there will be room enough for a third sheet and maybe one pillowcase more. Onde can wash three pairs of jeans or three bath towels (maybe more if the towels are smaller)

The cycles are very flexible. I loved that we can add several extra rinses. It also heats the water, pefect for those difficult loads. the extraction can be considered amazing for that tiny drum diameter. Of course a regular modern front loader would extract much more water during the spin.

We should also consider the people that live in small apartments. In the U.S., the smallest machine available, as far as I know, is that cute Haier top loader. Try to wash three king size sheet is it. It's obvious it will be overloaded! Mini is 6 times smaller and can wash twice of it's capacity.

Daewoo is now working on a washer-dryer version of Mini. It will be much more useful. Who never needed to run the dryer with only one garment in it?

The only thing i hate about them is the price. The Electrolux Mini Silent costs more than a regular 15kg capacity top loader. If they were cheaper, having two washing machines in every home would be as normal as having a stove in the kitchen.

It looks very like those Australian and Japanese small, wall mounted clothes dryers.

savewithgas.alintaenergy.com.au/g...

I think they just come in 4KG and 6KG size max.

I could certainly see something like that working quite well in a tiny Parisian studio apartment.

Small city centre apartments in France tend to use those top-loading H-axis machines which have a hatch in the drum. The machine rotates from front to back, so it can be taller and narrower giving you a 6kg or even 7kg machine in a much smaller but slightly taller package.

When are they going to start coming into the United States?? As a small apartment dweller, this is an attractive option.

I want to buy one.
