My washer just started doing this weird clicking crackle pop cereal thing when tumbling recently, No obvious bearing damage or spider damage because it spins normally like it always has... Very quiet. So If anyone could help that would be great! I love this baby too much and has been with us since 2006! Model:GHW9150PW1 Thank you! :)

Belt slipping ?

To my untrained ear on US FL's but having heard a similar noise on UK machines it sounds like the belt could be slipping.

Can you tighten the tension on it or just try a new belt.

i have the same model but from 2004 did you check in the drum or tub to see if there was any lose change that fell off pockets because i watch your vid and i think these are normal sounds unless loose change fell from your pocket.

Humm...

I'll check the belt today! High speed spinning is fine I've checked the pump filter and it was clear, even with an empty tub it still makes this noise. The self clean cycle has been ran numerous times thinking that there was coins, lighters, or something silly that could get flushed out. I'm highly perplexed to say the least. lol

Is it just during tumble or when the pump is running? Is the crackling-scraping noise fast or slow? Run your hands (carefully) over all the holes in the drum to see if you may have a foreign object caught in one of the holes that is rubbing on the outer tub as the basket turns. I worked on one of these the other day that had a bad pump that sounded like what you describe, but you'd obviously only hear that when the pump is running.

Sounds like an object is stuck between the tubs...

Maybe the drain check ball has come apart and the shell of it is rolling around in between the tubs?

Update...

Finally opened up the front cover and ran a load, The ball is fine and completely intact thankfully! it really does sound like a lighter or something of that nature stuck between the tubs. So now I guess its finding time to take the entire machine apart and finding out the mystery object. Thank you for your help! :)
