The buttons on it, remind me of the pushbuttons on my old Westinghouse "tumble" front loader. Could this have been manufactured by Westinghouse for MontgomeryWard?

Easily one of the worst DWs of the late 1970s-1980s, these even made D&M DWs not look too bad LOL.

Worst is relative

In my review, I actually thought the performance was very good, light years better than the turbine-pump GEs.  The build quality and razor-thin porcelain did make D&M look stellar, though.

The wheel-less bottom rack actually was surprisingly not that bad.  And the control panels were pretty handsome.

Worst of The Worst

My comments mainly referred to the reliability of the machines, they actually did work reasonably well, but I saw many of these DWs that were leaking from at least five places that were not 5 years old.

Didn't Frigidaire (General Motors) make the earlier Mont. Wards dishwashers ???
Late 60's and early 70's

Yes, GM had a contract with Montgomery Wards and built their appliances, at least in the late sixties.

My brother-in-law worked on the assembly line for Frigidaire in Dayton/Moraine, Ohio. They were making Montgomery Ward Appliances when he was hired on in 1966.

Wow! Looks rather feature-laden. I would like to get my hands on one of these as they look like they would be a fun machine to play with.

Speaking of Frigidaire, who made their DWs in the mid 80s? I can't remember who, but a member posted about it a few months ago, a friend of his moved into a new apartment with a Frigidaire DW, the model was supposedly notorious for spraying water out the bottom of the door?

Thanks Bob, it was way before the two-pump models too.
