In April, I purchased a gorgeous, all original, Maytag model 32 wringer washer off the internet, sight unseen, located in a suburb of Chicago (at the home of the seller). Having never shipped anything that large, but likewise never having had any problems in the past with getting anything shipped, I (naively) did not anticipate any major hurdles in getting it to my location in California. Unfortunately, I was wrong. After multiple failed attempts at arranging a shipment at a reasonable price, I have accepted the fact that shipping this washer half-way across the country is simply a losing proposition, by any available means.
Hence my post--Might there be any interest here in this washer? Based on the photos, it is in very nice condition; certainly much nicer than anything I have come across in my neck of the woods, and it is said to be in working condition. Supposedly, it sat untouched in a basement for decades. I'm certainly not looking to make a profit off of it, I'd be ecstatic to merely break even...I just don't know what else to do with it at this point. Any thoughts, insights, or potential suitors?
Before giving up, please check with John, Combo52, for the contact info for the shipper some of us use. We have found the rates and service to be good. Best of luck.
