Guys, I hate to be a bit of a wet blanket. But, I question as to this being a 1964 brochure. The machine on the front cover is exactly what we had that was purchased in late 1960 or early 1961 and moved with us to the new house in September, 1961. Post number 2798 Robert was contacted by someone in San Antonio that had a 1964 Waste King available, said it was installed in the house when it was built in 1964. Although the control panels are appearing identical there are subtle differences. Notice the graphics on the panel where the buttons and knob are. Also, notice there is significant differene between the knob on the machine in the picture below vs. what's in the DDD brochure. Also, the one below has a little red light indicating sani-heat I am sure, the brochure (and ours) didn't have that. |

The machine picture on front page is slightly different than the one on page 4. Page one has the two-tone waste king universal logo that were prety much two shades of acquas (this also lit up when the machine was on). also, the dial was a similar two-tone acqua/teal theme. The photo on page 4 has the red Waste King Universal logo like the one pictured above. Also the image on page 4 has the words "Automatic Dishwasher" in a script font. There is nothing like that on page 1. Ours didn't have that script font on it either. Also, the knob on page 4 is a two-tone grey theme. Somehow, our original knob broke (maybe from pulling on it so hard, it was somewhat difficult to pull out to start the machine) and this was the replacement knob. I wasn't happy because it didn't have the original color scheme. Pardon for all my excitement as this was my early childhood dishwasher and I've never seen any type of literature on it other than the POD ad. |
