I have a Norge(subsidiary of Borg-Warner)Dryer that my parents purchased around February of 1957 after moving into their new house on Long Island, NY. I was six years old. In 1959 it had a switch replaced and in 1981 it had a new heating element installed(by my father). And that is all that has ever been done to it. It has been used every week ever since. Does anyone know if this might be some kind of record? Washers have come and gone but that dryer has been in that basement for 55 years. I'm selling the house; so now I'm wondering if I shouldn't ship that antique dryer to my home in Texas rather than leave it for the new owners. What do ya'll think? Tomorrow I'll upload a picture of it. Even the flourescent light still works.

As long as I had a convenient place to keep it I wouldn't let go of something like this that had been in the family so long and served so reliably.

The new owners will junk it.

If you don't want that to happen to such a faithful part of the family, it would be best not to trust anyone other than yourself as custodian.
