Re: DW Rehab:

Hi! bpetersxx, what Brand and about how old is your Dishwasher that your talking about? It no doubt is well worth the Rehab and operating, but as you know, "Curious Minds" want to know details...

Peace and Good Luck with the DW Rehab, Steve

Unfortunately it is modern

I am going to have to jury-rig it in the basement to see if it works

I was told it does not clean well so I hope it is not the dirt sensor.

I wanted to see if it worked before installing it in the kitchen

One thing taht may be3 "effecting the cleaning" is a water valve that's got sediment in it and prevents it from filling with the correct water pressure it was designed for. Also, the food grinder may be broken or the filter isn't cleaning itself. Otherwise, those are EXCELLENT dishwashers. Based on the old Whirlpool PowerClean wash system, one of the absolute best cleaning designs in the history of recent dishwashers. Also, eitheer spray arm may not be rotating well. And the spray arm below the upper rack may not getting a good seal at the back of the tub to fill the spray arm properly. May we see more pictures?

I agree with Appnut

The Whirlpool powerclean/Kenmore Ultraclean motor pump assembly makes for one of the best cleaning dishwashers I have ever used. No Tears from Sears indeed!

I am also finding that I prefer the older style traditional machines with a motor compartment inder the wash tub. The newer tall tub designs seem so low. My friend Martha just moved into a place that has a (cheep) Fraudgidaire tall tub and I feel like I'm putting dishes down in the root cellar every time I use her machine. I'm not sure the extra capacity is worth the deep knee bends, but thats just me.

I forgot to post what model this is

Sears Kenmore Model 665.15772990

The service paperwork that came with this DW can be used with a WP or a KA DW

Except for a few different options and lights on the control panel, this is identical to my dishwasher. The previous owners of my place installed it in 1998. It's a great dishwasher, and it's ULTRA quiet. The only problem mine has is the previous owners did something to cause the tub to be stained dirty yellow.
