Came across this thought I'd share.  Not sure if it was posted before.

It was from a story about how brand names and advertizing do not necessarily translate well.

That's the sound a dog with a speech impediment makes.

Someone used the term "urpy" on some forum last week. I remember hearing the term "urp up" as sort of a genteel substitution for "vomit" or "throw up" which, I guess, were a little too graphic for the southern lady who used it in the 50s. According to the dictionary it is a term that seems to have come from the Mississippi delta.

Don't forget, "Ralph," "calling for a Buick," "driving the porcelain bus" (it's actually china) "worshipping at the bathroom spring" and hurling.

OH my God. This reminds me of one of the first episodes of Beavis and Butt-head. They wanted to get into Mr. Anderson's will so they offered to do chores for him. He had them give his dog a bath. So they took her to the laundromat and put her in a front loader. When it was done she was all dizzy of course to which the Boys thought she was "high". So they then decided to take a ride in the washer as well. When they got out they thew up all over the dog. They took her back to Mr. Anderson and he of course noticed the dog was worse than when he gave her to them. Butt-head said they used a special new dog detergent "Lemon Scented Chunks". LOL every time I see that I can't help but to laugh!

I'm glad I can pick up my cheese in the supermarket and don't have to ask for it by name, here in Hungary. The word for cheese is sajt but it is pronounced "shite"!

What about speakers which intoxicate you?

I know it is a little out of matter but since we're talking about "wacky packages" here are a couple of speakers I bought a month ago, couldn't believe what the box said:

Couldn't Help But Notice

A 100 oz. bottle of Tide on sale for 4.49. Regular price on it is 7.69. That ad's definitely old.

Now for the bacon part...is it cooked or raw? If raw, when you put the clothes in a dryer the heat will cook the bacon? :)

Yep it is definitely old, those were good days! When the Liquid Tide was good and also you didn't need to get a mortgage to buy a bottle, and also the days of the liquid being orange, that was what I would call a detergent, not the thick blue tap WATER they sell today........
And then.....
It had even bacon!!!!! LOL
Jokes apart....too bad they don't produce it like before.
