I know that I will probably be shot for this suggestion, but would this GE dryer be a potential parts donor for a GE V-12?? This one is up for sale in Montreal for a fairly reasonable price....
Specifically, would this 'Custom' model's drum rollers make a suitable replacement for the flattened ones on the V-12? I am getting despatate here... I cannot for the life of me seem to find the correct ones (I bought a pair of what turned out to be the Drive Wheel for a 1959 dryer - so if anyone ever needs them, let me know... They're brand new!) |

Paul this newer GE dryer has no drum rollers at all, it would have front drum slides that could be easily retrofitted into your V-12, you may even be able to retro-fit the belt around drive that this newer dryer uses and get rid of the rear [ often lumpy ] drive roller that your V-12 uses.
Unless I forgot something I don't ever remember a WP dryer that used an electrical release for the door. |

John, I am going to have to speak to you about the dryer drum glides! I have seen them but was not sure about which ones would fit the V12... Hubby would be VERY happy if I can get this dryer back together and out of the garage!!
It was the Whirlpool washer that had the electric release latch (not sure which model, though) - sorry for not being clearer about that! Work fatigue is getting to me... |
