Due to the generosity of a fellow club member I have them.  I think I prize these two above all others because of the color.

I would need all 3 of these and not in any particular order.  Juyst want them in my daily laundry arsenal.  WCI65.  Although these are RickR's 66 set, they're identical in basic look of panels and cycle/option buttons. 

A Custom Imperial 1/18 but it has to be the year that the 3-speed for ex-slow agitation was offered. 

Maytag 806 or 808 pair.  My preference would be the versions of the 806 Center dial that had the big load dryer.  Reason being?  I prefer the better functionality performance and flexibility of the dryness control buttons as well as regular and delicate heat setting buttons.  Not sure there wass any version of that Big Load dryer that had a lighted control panel.  Although I'd take the older D806 dryer too if that was the only way I could have lighted control panels.  I love vintage, but if I had my choice, I'd opt. for best performance and flexibility asnd functionality of what the product line offered in its run.  And in these examples, they're the best as far as I"m concerned.  Maytag and Frigidaire being my most favorite.  Probably because these are the two brands my parnts would have never bought when I was growing up.  And I've already "lived" with GE, Norge, and Kenmore--ho hum. 

And did anyone notice they're all TOL?  Why compromise lol.

And thanks goes to RickR and PhilR for having photos of the machines I could have a representative of what I'd want.  And since I love front loaders, would ahve to make space for a TOL 1957 Bendix Duomatic somewhere in the dwelling lol.

Would love to find a nice hit and miss Maytag engine at a decent price for one of my Model 80's though.

Barry, I've not known of such a thing since the early 1950s.  Most likely was a cold rinse button and another button for cold wash & rinse. 

Similar to pictured above, the ultimate for me would be Poppy Red 1-18's, with a window and console flourescent lights, all the knobs and dials available for pre-wash, extra rinse, everything, but not a pushbutton design. I can make all sorts of choices, not the machine. Dryer in gas, not electric. Whichever year had the ultimate most extensive dial controls. Of course unused, New In Box, of course. For such a set, I'd re-do my first floor to make a first floor laundry room, those deserve to be seen and heard, not relegated to my basement.

Mark, I"m not sure these were ever available in Poppy.  Every sales brochure I've seen that had poppy offered during the 1-18 years, only the custom deluxe model was avaiable in that color.  It's also the only model I've seen in collections of the club too.  And every ad for poppy I saw also was not a Custom Imperial.  I hope someone proves me wrong, but that's my takeaway from observing.  I agree with you, they woiuled have been awesome.  Mark, I can also tell you that all those push buttons on the 1965 CI mimicked exactly the cycles and options as found on that CI 1-18 set's panel pictured above. 

You are probably quite correct, but I can dream, right? Mom had a MOL 1-18 set from 73, and most 1-18's with dials have been a fave of mine since, but the 1965 set is great looking, no problem with pushbuttons on it. The 1-18's to me just look right with silver dials, not pushbuttons, who knows?

And when you think about it, the poppy red cabinet and lids are entirely interchangeable regardless of the console, so I actually could swap around from 2 sets to get the exact controls I want on the color I want.

It may never happen, but this is a fun thread.

1965-66 Frigidaire Rollermatic Custom Imperial set (or a newer Canadian Rapidry set),  The 1965 models are not exactly the same as the 1966 and newer models, the dryers lack the sensor dry and for some reason, I think I like them even better!

Any 1958-63 Frigidaire Custom Imperial models too!

And Bob is right about 1-18 Custom Imperial models not being available as Poppy. But it's still posssible to switch the cabinets if someone really wants that!

Some of the 65 Rollermatics came with the Impact clutch, this includes the Rapidry models.  This proved to be hard on the motors from what I was told about them, later on it was all sure-spin clutches.

My Poppy 1-18s are the Gold Crown Edition.  I also have never seen that color on an Imperial Model.

Was used to disengage the cycle selection lock stop feature so you could set the timer dial anywhere you wanted, on the 64 LKM the button to do this was labeled Dial and on other WP built washers and combs the button was labeled Manuel.

Vern, tis washer has theKenmore agitator that has the fins and no skirt under the fins--open.  The cycle normally would sift to gentle agitation from normal speed during the wash period.  The Heavy Duty button simply elikminated the speed shift in the middle of the wash and I think the rinse agitation speed also remained on normal.
