I think this is a '01 or '02 machine, brand new bearings, assembly and innertub. Works PERFECT !! and I set it to take in a little extra water for more fun, sloshy wash action. I LOVE this machine. See below pics and brief video of first rinse.

Hey gregm!

This is a simple but good machine.
I've had the Frigidaire version of
it since '98 and have had great luck
with it. How did you come across this
one? Patrick

hi patrick

hey patrick, I got it from a club member who acquired it and rebuilt the bearing/tub assembly, he hated to trash the machine because its in mint condition. So I bought it from him all repaired like new. Its my primary, daily machine and I LOVE IT !!!

ME TOO! Mine has a Frigidaire badge and includes a *Short* cycle (W-R-R-S)

Normal labeled *Whites*
Perma Press labeled *Colors*
Knits/Delicates is a bit TOO gentle

...beyond that, NO COMPLAINTS!

Congrats, gregm! As with Toggle, I have the Frigidaire version of this machine. I've not had a day's trouble with it. If I remember correctly, the Kenmore version spins 100 rpm faster than the Frigidaire version of the same year. Mine is a 2002, and by that time, whatever exclusive contract Kenmore had with Electrolux had run its course and mine is a fast-spinner, too. May you have many carefree loads!

Toggle, I agree: I wish the delicate cycle wasn't quite to stingy with the tumbling. I've been running all my dress shirts/pants in that cycle using Woolite for Darks and it's not handling collar grime well unless I pretreat. However, this may be due as much to Woolite being too gentle a detergent....

And I've always found that delicate cycle too harsh. LOL IIRC the water level is the same as in the other cycles. Most other (European ) frontloaders have delicate cycles with less tumbling and higher water levels.

Louis:

We are not so big on wool here... IMHO cotton usually rules.

I'm thinking the "delicate" cycles we see on our "new" (to us) F/L-ers are better for wool than cotton.

Thanks for the movie, but me thinks you are using too much detergent. That is more than enough suds for the main wash.

Hum During Tumbling?

Let me ask this here. I had the Frigidaire FL from 98 to earlier this year. I really loved the machine, but I am curious. The machine always had a loud electronic hum as the machine was tumbling. Even when the drum wasn't rotating the motor would hum. Do those of you that have this machine have the same hum?

I always assumed it was just one of those things you had with front loaders, but since that I have had two front loaders (Maytag (Samsung) Neptune briefly and Kitchenaid) and they do not hum at all.

Thanks.

Sorry about that...

I accidentally moved the movie file to another directory. I fixed it and the link should now work again. QT format works the best with this .mov file.

sorry vid so short

sorry, I took it with my dig cam and if I made it "longer" I wouldn't have been able to upload and email. I have VERY little knowlege of video yet and still have a lot to learn about it.
