The town I live in had a clothing store that has been closed for years. Katy had a ladies and childrenswear shop. My mom took my sister and I there when we were little. The clothes were 10 years out of style and really expensive.
Katy never married, no kids and was very fussy. She made the kids sit on a bench inside the door while their moms shopped. All the clothes were covered in clear, plastic bags.
The whole lower level would remind you of, Grace Brothers. The store has been taken over and is now a junk shop. Katy lived over the store in a massive apartment. The upstairs is now open for shoppers. It is kinda creepy up there. The kitchen is empty except for the dishwasher. $20.00 and you have to disconnect and haul it out yourself.

Are those handles or glass holders on the upper rack?

That dishwasher looks immaculate - I'd grab it if I found it.

Those draperies were a lot of work to make - the ball-fringe alone must have taken hours! LOL. My mother and her aunt (same age) used to make draperies for their homes. When my mother and step-dad married and moved into a new house, her aunt drove up from Kansas City to help make the draperies for living room. Two whole walls were draped and I was appalled at the cost of the materials, even saving all of the labor it was still astonishing. I didn't care much for the heavy drapery look so it just was beyond my understanding.
