I am sure I have asked this question before, so apologies for asking again.

I have an Indesit drum action top loader (WT82T FR) which is a French machine that I use as a second washer for the dogs blankets and car cloths. Basically things I don't want to go through the Miele. Here in the UK this machine is for all intents and purposes a Hotpoint WT 500.

The problem is when I switch it on the indicator light flashes 3 times very rapidly and the programmer dial goes round without stopping. I seem to remember that it was thought that the Thermistor has gone. If so, where is it and can I get a replacement??

Any help gratefully received, do not want to call out the service chappie at the astronomical rates they charge.

Philip.

There was a video on youtube sometime ago now of a front load indesit machine with Timer Dial, just advancing round and round. It looked like it was signifying a fault. Maybe you could contact Indesit and ask them what the fault is?

That was a common fault with that series of Indesit machines. I know of at least 4 people who had the same problem.

Thanks to all who have replied, Indesit UK will not go near the machine (understandably).

I think I know what is wrong, just need confirmation that it is one component that has gone or am I looking at two separate faults with the LED flashing rapidly 3 times and the programmer knob rotating.

Thanks in advance.

I've not done much on toploaders although they are popular here in Hungary. I suggest you ask on the UKWhitegoods site:

Fido

Thank you Fido. Had look on English website, and my machine is not listed as it is a French Machine and can't seem to find the English Hotpoint equivalent. Though suspect it is the WT400.

Am going to invert the washer this PM and have a look at the brushes on the motor. These Top loaders are b*****ds to work on as the back does not remove, you have to get into the machine from the sides. Would love to know how to test the componentry to work out what has gone.

I am sure that the fault is something simple as when it works the washer is great.

Thanks again, Philip.
