I was at Sears yesterday and was trying to compare these 2 machines.

The Frigemore has 3.5 cu/ft capacity, has an awesome huge door with clear window, but the controls seem flimsy and the dryer sucks.

The HE2 is a little smaller but seems more solidly built. But it has a smoked glass window.

Both machines $799.

So any thoughts on which one to buy?

Which one's more fun? more reliable?

Thanks for any help. I'm house hunting (can't buy anything right now but soon) and I want a stackable set so I'd have room in the laundry room for at least one vintage machine (a green Kenmore maybe ;-) ).

Frigit

I would go with the Frigit, just my two cents, I am not into the "smoked glass" thing at all, whats the point ........ I would get a "duet" before that. I love my Kenmore which is actually a Frigidaire/Electrolux machine. Its a couple years older, but I was able to set it to take in a tad more water so it is definately more fun to watch in my book. I don't know if you can do that with the newer "frigidaire/electrolux" type machines ??? and i don't know if you can adjust the water levels at all in the "duet" or new Kenmore washers ???

yes, I agree that the Frigit/Electrolux dryers do suck ........., the GE's aren't much better either. I still think the standard typical Roper, WP or Kenmore dryers are best.
