Nice machine!

It's an early version of the Mobile Maid, possibly a 1954 or 1955 model. The wash system is an impeller-driven one - if loaded correctly, the machine has a surprising capacity and cleans reasonably well.

They are pretty easy machines to work on - the water valve may cause some trouble and the water supply and drain hoses may need replacing. I have a manual for this machine, too, if you need it.

Check the condition of the Bakelite impeller. The leading edges are especially liable to get chipped or broken. When that happens they don't pick up water worth a damn and performance goes down the tubes (not the same ones that go spastic during a rape, however). Seriously, if the impeller has much damage, running it can ruin the motor. This machine did not dispose of solid, non-dissolvable waste well at all so be prepared to do some pre-rinsing.
