Had a few more UK finds since I`ve been away and a few more on the way...yay!!!

The first one is a Maytag Wringer Washer, you need to help me out with the date, not sure if its 50`s or what...this came from a US Airforceman via ebay, this machine has been in the family, was his grandmothers, they moved from the States to Italy with the forces and then to UK...its missing a front decal...sooo sort through your boxes please if theres any about let me know...

Number two is a working 1970`s Hoover Keymatic, MINT condition even has the badges on..Persil Automatic...perfect...Why do people keep these on in their kitchens etc...sounds bonkers but I`m glad the Lady of the House did..

The story to this is even weirder...I`ve been going to a small appliance repair shop since finding Appliancville, it in the town I grew up in, have been buying all sorts of bags, belts hoses etc, they recon vacs n washers etc..

Small shop with two rows of recon washers at a right angle, short of space so the vacs all sit on top of the washers in plastic bags...you`ll get the drift...I leaned over in the corner to see what gaskets he had hanging on the wall when I noticed "something Orange in Colour"

O..M...Gawd>>> could that be??? I lifted one of the vacs and moved the plastic cover...and there it was...I nearly keeled over with an attack of the vapours...the owner was worse...he was really embarrassed because he`d been looking out for old appliances for me...turns out this box in the corner serving the purpose of holding vacs had been there 12 years!!!

Needless to say it was out of the corner replaced by a White Night Dryer and in to my car as quick as a flash...

Enjoy..Mike

To Chestermikeuk

I must ask. Does your old Hoover keymatic from 1961 work yet?
I have a working one that my parents had before. Only bad thing is that it blows the fuses if you wash number 1 whites program. Thats 85 g celsius. It had a weird sound also before, but i think it was a coin or something that had stuck somewhere.

I,m really amazed that the machine does not leak, because both the drum and tube is emanel. Here in Sweden where i live we have a testing facility that is named "Konsumentverket" They always complain about machines with emanel in.

Mike ... great looking machines; congrats!!

Your Maytag is from the late 1950's/early 1960's. You can tell by the black agitator. Maytag switched from a red bakelite agitator to a black one in the later part of the 1950's and then replaced the black one with turquoise in the mid 1960's.

I'd agree ... Santa came early to your house!!

Are you looking for a larger house yet?? Your garage must really be a wonderland now!

That wringer is beautiful, what a lucky find for you. Fate has a funny way of lending a hand now and then, congrats on all the new machines. That Hoover Keymatic is quite a sharp looking machine - the chrome door is worth hauling it home alone.
