On my recent trip through the mid-west, I stopped at the Jasper County Museum, located in Newton, Iowa (former home, of course, to Maytag). They have a fantastic collection of Maytag machines. I've posted an album on my Flickr page - link attached. I've included a preview - a pristine Model 30. Enjoy!

Bradd, its a great museum, glad I had the pleasure of visiting with the gang at the 2005 convention...
I too would like to visit Lee Maxwells place while we can, he visits UK each year and hopefully can meet him here shortly. Jon Jetcone - my image of you at the museum is finding the Maytag Combo Manual was for sale - and the rush to the cash register...Ha..ha.. CLICK HERE TO GO TO chestermikeuk's LINK |

My brothers and I visited the Museum when the collection was still in MTs hands around 1972, apparently at that time period very few people visited it. If you turned the guest book back just a page or two you when back at least a year. It was still great to see and I am glad that Jasper County is keeping this going, everyone should visit if they get the chance.
Lee Maxwell s is also a great thing to see and it is not certain what will happen to this cool museum in the future as it is privately held. |
