Yikes, while any lighted-panel Maytag is a cool machine, it looks like a rust-bucket if you ask me...I've certainly had my fair share of THOSE in the short time I've been collecting!! LOL |

It was orginally coppertone, CA806 on the model tag indicates the color. Pre-Perm Press cycle with auto soak and pre-wash was made before February 1969. It needs a new lid, paint-job, obviously a belt set and replace that dial/knob with the orginal. Since there are no pictures of the inside of the washer, we'll just assume for the sake of hopeful collectors everywhere that it's just mint!

Scott - Thanks for the info. I understand the year, for the most part, as if you use A starting in 64, that was the start of the *02 Series machines. What I don't get is the logic behind the month. Do they always start with G for Jan, or is there a cryptic system? I would appreciate any input on this or a copy of your cheat sheet. I am curently gathering info for a Maytag model database, and this info would be very helpful to many people. Thanks a bunch! Ben |
