What Do You Guys Think about this dishwasher? How reliable is it?

I do not have the built in but do have there portable 18 unit. I got it in 2007 and still running like a champ used daily sometimes up to 3 times a day.

I love the built in water softener. All SS top rack can be moved up or down. Bottom rack the forks can be fold flat for large pots. Not loud when running fast under 50 min for the pot pan. I use the reg for everything it comes out clean an takes about 35 min a load.

The drying system is nice it drys with steam. This is where most bad reviews come from. People think it is done and stop it not true. It will pause with a fill for about 10 min to steam dry. Also between fills it will do a short fill to flush the softener.

I had 3 different portable dishwashers and this one is kick ass hands down the best I have had. First was great GE next came a haier 18 no longer made portable thing caught on fire.. This dishwasher looks like new runs like new and not one problem with it at all. I would buy one aging hands down over any other out there.

I know mine is the portable but there one 18 inch built in is the same unit without the wheels so this might be helpful.

One other thing to add. What about there service as a company. I called them a few times fast on the phone. They stock all parts in the usa warehouse in PA. I never needed a part for the dishwasher. But I order a hose adapter for a washing machine to make it portable cheap 12 bucks and it came in less then a week.

I Have the built in and it's freaking awesome. What Detergent do you use? i only have the regular cascade gel, cascade complete gel and original cascade powder available in this country, all phosphate free of course. I have one issue though some of my dishes have a wet dog like egg fresh scent to them, have you experienced this?

Might try a good cleaning of it. I did have a odd film once and now about every year I run a bottle of the works lime remover in a empty long cycle. Not sure what brands you have there but the works lime is only $1.00 a bottle. Just make sure it says save for plastic and metal. Also one thing I find hard is cleaning the metal filter I now use a stiff brush on that sucker with a little wash up soap.

Also I do not use jet dry I just use pure white vinegar. I find it works just as good not sure if it is a safe thing for it but no problems so far been doing this since it was new. Also think it helps to cut any lime that gets pass the water softener.

I use powder or gel. Odd but might be the usa version any of the packs become a foam party. lol So I use cascade when it is on sale. Most of the time finish. Gel types u sly the cheap store brand I find no mater what type I have used things come out clean. I have had a few forks or spoons come out nasty. But think that is a overload since I stuff it. I just take the dirty ones and run them with the next load.

Another tip I found is clean between the door and the tub. That spot can get funky fast. I just wipe it with a rag and some clean water.

Coldspot, Do you use the plus button? you're right whatever detergent you use, stuff always comes clean. I believe the detergent is minor as opposed to the cleaning power attributed with the dishwasher. The only thing i'm concerned about us a white out of my glasses with the cascade :/

I keep the plus one in all the time. I think it just boost the water temp. I use the one with rabbit picture once. I found it did not get the water to hot but also did not clean as good. It is good for say fast washing like a glass lamp shade I put the lamp covers in it once a year.

So far my glass stuff has came out clean only time I got spots is when I ran out of salt for a few weeks. I had spots on everything I ran in it. But no big deal I just wiped them super clean as I took them out.
