Out of curiosity, I decided to look at Zanussi's online dishwasher catalogue. I am shocked.

The range of free-standing dishwashers amounts to two counter-top machines and one floor-standing slimline model.

Maybe Electrolux is trying to retire the brand, the way Tricity-Bendix disappeared?

Surely not Zanussi, they are one of the top makes!

There are a few full size models lurking about, such as the ZDF2020, (seen in the link) but not much else! Pity about that! I really do hope Electrolux keeep Zanussi.

I never thought I'd say it about one of my favourite brands but I wish they would. Outsourced models, cheap build, dumbed down styling and options and last but not least...I need a new line for this shocker..

The latest bottom of the line washer has......ONE drum paddle! Are you actually kidding me?!

As much as it would be a shame to see the name go

It's already a shame to see what has become of it! Just like most once good brands it's a shadow of it's former self!

As for there not being many dishwashers to choose from, that's certainly not a bad thing...Zanussi dishwashers IMO have been awful for a VERY long time! I had a late 2000's full size model in a rental house, really didn't appreciate only being able to wash 4 bowls in the upper rack, having everything coated in undissolved detergent residue and dried on bits of food or having glasses fall over due to the abysmal rack design and being left full of dirty water!

As much as I dislike Indesit company products, I have to say I'd have one of their dishwashers any day over even a considerably older Zanussi dishwasher.

Yes, when I shut down my business last year I still had a few customers who were running the old Washcraft series washing machines. Usually all that went wrong was stripped teeth on the timer knob assembly, the rest of the machine being built like a brick $hithouse! Sadly the newer models with welded tubs were sometimes being scrapped after only 2 years use.

"ONE drum paddle!"

What?!? How the hell can that wash?

I don't know what Electrolux are playing at, but it smacks of Unilever getting rid of "Lux" toilet soap, "Vim" scouring powder, and "Knights Castile" toilet soap. (Note: the latter two went to new manufacturers).

Really dreadful news for a once decent brand.

One paddle

Can someone tell me which models have one drum paddle?

I've never seen them here, but Electrolux group isn't very popular here.

If anyone has a picture of that drum, it would be cool, but I suppose no one does :P

Zanussi was more or less dead brand more/less everywhere except in the UK. In the eastern countries, like Serbia, Russia etc was sold mostly under Electrolux name. In italy (and zanussi is italian brand) all of E-lux machines are sold branded REX. In each country there is AEG for higher end, but no, or veery rare Zanussi.

Zanussi was always and is still available on the Dutch market. They still sell freestanding 60cm wide dishwashers here. Other Electrolux brands like Marynen and Zanker have disappeared though. Zanker in 2005 and Marynen in 2007, it's only AEG and Zanussi here now.
