Hi guys
I dont post a lot on here but I thought I would share some pics of my new machine. I have had three new washing machines over the past three years. A swan 9kg steam washing machine which didnt last long.
I replaced it with a BOL hotpoint which was a rubbish machine.
I have now got a 7kg 1400spin Beko and I am really impressed. Really high water levels in wash and rinse. Doesnt mess about when going into spin. Even if its un balanced it just does it anyway. Its quick and the results are fantastic.

Apart from loads of options it has a 14 minute 30 degree quick wash which I wouldnt use but it can wash 7kg 60 load with three deep rinses and full spin in 1hour and 1 minute and it really does.

I've always been put off by this make but it seems like a well built machine. Nothing feels flimsy and ready to break.
I've put these pics on for now and will take some more next time I do a load with different pics throughout the cycle to show how high water levels are.

Hi

Hi Robbie.

Really like your new machine. I think Beko have improved a lot. We recently purchased a Beko freezer. It says you can use it in a garage as it will operate in low weather conditions, will have to wait and see if it does.

What did you do with the Swan washer.

Cheers
Paul

I cant remember the model number. It was basically an Indesit machine and it was awful at washing. Everything on it felt cheap and plastic even the drum seemed to have been made out of the cheapest metal you could think of.

PAUL.
Hi mate. The swan machine was a direct drive and three engineers came out over a period of four weeks and non of them could repair it. The direct drive motor had burned out after 6 months and in the end I opted for a full refund.
I'll be doing a load today in the Beko and will post some more pics of it. The only negative thing I can say about the machine is the drain pump is a little noisy but its a small price to pay for all the plusses

Hi Robbie.

Congrats on the new machine - looks good!

It seems that many manufacturers have improved their machines, when compared to what was on offer five or so years ago.
People have good things to say about Hotpoint and Beko in particular.

Only time will tell, but heres hoping we really are entering a new world where modern machines dont take for ever with their cycles and last a tad longer than 3 years.

Hi paul
Like with you, my parents bought a Beko freezer based on the fact that it will allegedly operate down to -15 degrees.
The chest freezer they had previously (a Novum of about 25 years old), burst in the last cold winter we had and though still operating constantly was flooding the garage. A damn good freezer, but the weather killed it :-(

Here is hoping that our Beko freezers survive the next cold snap and that things continue to improve quality wise in the world of appliances generally.

Keep us updated with your new machine Robbie.
Cheers
Paul

p.s the pumps are the last area of disappointment on many a machine. How annoying for people to buy Super Silent machines that are whisper quiet, only to be confronted by the loud 'thump, thump, thump' whenever the machine drains!

Oh to have the pumps from hotpoint 95s, or any other of their 1980s bretheren, with their low pitched hum. Would make a world of difference, but they are more expensive pumps that the thumpers that we have today.

Oh well - you cant have everything.....or can you? Maybe they willbe the next 'NEW' feature on washing machines - Super silent pumps!!!

Hi Paul

Before I bought the Beko I looked everywhere to try and buy a Hotpoint from late 80's 800 spin electronic and I couldnt find any that wasnt covered in rust. They were well built machines and I regret getting rid of the ones I've had over the years just because I've updated the kitchen.
Really miss that machine. I still have my Hotpoint dishwasher which is almost 9 years old and never had a fault with it. Its on daily. Self cleaning filter everything comes out clean first time. Its very rare anything has to go back in to be re cleaned and if it does its been my fault for not loading it properly. Still looks and works like new. I think it was one of the last proper hotpoint machines to be built before they were took over.

I'll have to upload some pics
